Outpatient Clinics
Division faculty members are actively involved in seeing outpatients at the University Arthritis and Autoimmunity Center, and the VAMC clinics in Oakland. Division faculty serve a tertiary care role, seeing complicated autoimmune disease patients referred by other rheumatologists and internists, but also evaluate patients with more common forms of rheumatic disease. There are five designated specialty centers:
The Division of Rheumatology also has community-based practices located in Aspinwall, Bethel Park, Oakland, Monroeville, downtown Pittsburgh, Shadyside and Wexford. The primary emphasis of these practices is on clinical care, but physicians at the community-based practices also participate in research and teaching activities.
