Research Interest
Dr. Nikiforova’s research focus is in medical education. She has conducted and mentored research projects focused on curriculum innovation in ambulatory education and educational research aimed at improving the care for individuals with limited English proficiency.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Nikiforova completed her internal medicine residency training at UPMC. Her clinical focus is in providing high-quality, equitable primary care for diverse populations, including individuals with limited English proficiency. She also has a clinical interest in treating chronic hepatitis C infection through primary care.
Educational Interest
Dr. Nikiforova’s teaching focuses on ambulatory education. She serves as the Associate Program Director for Ambulatory Education in the UPMC Internal Medicine Residency Program, where she oversees ambulatory rotations and continuity clinic education for residents. She has also led educational sessions at numerous local and national conferences focused on medical education topics such as survey design in medical education.
