Winters Foundation Awards
The Samuel and Emma Winters Foundation awards five to six grants for biomedical research to investigators in the Pittsburgh area each year. These one-year awards of up to $10,000 are intended to support junior faculty members, although senior investigators who are developing new research directions may also be considered.
Department of Medicine faculty have had remarkable success in receiving Winters Foundation Awards. The Department has averaged more than three awards per year for the past nine years, with every Division receiving at least one grant during that time.
Applications for Winters Foundation Awards are due in the spring of the award year that begins on July 1.
