Rollman Voted President-Elect of American Psychosomatic Society

The American Psychosomatic Society has elected Bruce Rollman MD MPH as its president-elect for 2017.  He will begin his one-year term as Society president in March 2018.

Dr. Rollman is the UPMC Endowed Chair in General Internal Medicine and Director of the Center for Behavioral Health and Smart Technology. His research focuses on developing novel interventions to treat depression and anxiety in non-psychiatric settings. Dr. Rollman has been principal investigator on six NIH-funded R01 clinical trials, including the Hopeful Heart Trial presently evaluating the impact of a “blended” collaborative care model for treating heart failure and depression simultaneously.

Formed in 1942, the American Psychosomatic Society is an international organization dedicated to advancing and integrating the scientific study of biological, psychological, behavioral and social factors in health and disease.
